Description:

This spotting in Costa Rica, in early AM at dawn. Markings as in attached photos. The Crested Caracara is a member of the falcon family

Habitat:

This spotting was in a grove of trees on the Pacific side of Costa Rica...wetland forest. References indicate it ranges from the northern third of South America northward through Central America, Mexico, and southern Arizona.
