Horned-Eyed Ghost Crab

Ocypode ceratophthalma

Description:

Saw lots of this Horned-Eyed Ghost Crab at the beach of a private Kureli Island. They scurry around and dig themselves into holes among the white sandy beach. They have odd sized claws/pincers, with one larger than the other. Pics#2 & #3 is of a different Crab, this one carrying eggs, which are black in colour.

Habitat:

Sandy beach
