Description:

Wingspan of an adult is 43–67 mm. The adult has translucent gold spots on the forewings and silvery bands on the hindwings.

Notes:

I spotted this in a field near the old canal. Was a great subject to photograph as it let me approach very close. This photo was not cropped or edited in any way.

Thanks again bayucca. According to wiki, ' It is claimed to be the most recognized skipper in North America.' Now I will be able to recognize it too!
