Light brown with pale dots and a narrow mid-lateral brown stripe, sometimes broken into blotches; faint bars on body; small black spot at front of dorsal fin; mature males with more yellow on head, gill membranes black; branchiostegal rays blue.
Found in sand areas usually in small holes in the sand or some sand tubes from Florida all the Caribbean sea to Venezuela.
Pike made a sand tube that it glue whit some special saliva this is a very unique shelter long and narrow.
