Kestrel; Cernícalo

Falco sp.

Description:

#8,000! This is a bird I have been looking for for years, along with a Merlin. Last week at the marshes I saw a tiny falcon sitting on a viewing platform in the marshes. I thought it was a Merlin but it didn't look quite right. When it flew away and hovered I thought it was a Kestrel and only realised it be a Lesser Kestrel when I got home and looked at the pictures on the PC, but further research suggests that it could be a juvenile female Kestrel (F. tinnunculus).

Habitat:

Coastal marshes
