Heteronympha merope

Description:

Male wingspan, 56mm. Males fly slowly close to the ground over grasses early in the season; later they fly higher, patrolling the mid to upper canopy with faster & more erratic flight & commonly hilltop.

Habitat:

Found in a wide variety of habitats, but especially grassy woodland & dry eucalypt forest with a grassy understory.
