Agreeable tiger moth

spilosoma

Description:

White Furry moth, probably about 3/4" to an inch long. Saw it very briefly.

Habitat:

Northwest Ohio, about 15 miles outside of Toledo in a semi rural area. Farmland and small patches of woods.

Notes:

Saw it about midnight, very briefly. Landed on my sliding glass door when I had the dogs outside before bed.

Jason, the Agreeable Tiger Moth is a specific species, while Spilosoma is only a Genus. I would keep this as tiger moth, with the scientific name "Spilosoma," to avoid confusion.
