Description:

Brown to reddish brown coat; greyish or white underparts; forelimbs are longer than the hind limbs; male has long upper canines - may not be visible always; frontal ridges on the face are well developed; males have small well developed antlers

Habitat:

Prefer hilly and moist areas; thick deciduous and evergreen forests

Notes:

Its also known as Barking Deer and Kakkar/Kaakar in Hindi language
