mica cap

coprinellus micaceus

Description:

a cluster of small coprinellus mushrooms with golden domes and tiny brown particles on striated caps. Stipes were white and some showed thick clumps of hyphae at the base ( pic #2)

Habitat:

This clump was seen arising from the surface of a dirt road (clay), probably from a buried piece of wood

Notes:

Similar to spotting: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/122... This was an interesting and attractive clump of small mushrooms in a very different environment !
