Description:

Rare inland sighting. Mottled Duck is the bird in the middle of the frame near male Mallards. Note the overall dark color with light edging to all body feathers, yellow bill with dark spot at gape, no white edging speculum at top and dark tail. If you compare to nearby Mallards the Mallards are lighter, have white tails, orange bills and white edging the speculum.
