Green Kingfisher

Description:

The Green Kingfisher is 19 centimetres (7.5 in) long and weighs 27 grams (0.95 oz). It has the typical kingfisher shape, with a short tail and long bill. It is oily green above, with white markings on the wings and tail, and a white collar around the neck.

Habitat:

This is a resident bird that lives near rivers, swamps and lakes where they can get their food which basicaly is based on little fishes and some times insects.

Notes:

This bird was seen alone in an small river near a beach in Costa Rica.

These guys are so funny looking. Their head is so huge compared to the rest of their body.
