Black Wasps

Description:

Large, aggressive black wasps that were biting off pieces of what looked like dried meat stuck in a tree branch. It could have been left there by road workers having lunch.

Habitat:

Heavy shrubbery along the highway between San Cristobal de Las Casas and Tuxtla Gutierrez, km 11.5, 865 meters.
