Black-banded Gossamerwing

Euphaea decorata

Description:

Damselfly in Hong Kong.

Notes:

the wings having so much colour reflection and the blue body having such a light colour is from my LED to the side as well as the ring flash. in the wild, it almost looks completely black unless you can look closely, which isn't too hard because like quite a few of it's cousins, this guy like to stay in one place, even after i was forced to walk into it to get back onto dry land. afterwards i turned around to take a look, and it flew back on the now heavily swaying leaf.
