Description:

Sharp cedar juniper setting cones in the restored dunes of the Darsenna beach of Viareggio.

Habitat:

Renaturalized beach dunes along the beaches of Darsenna at Viareggio along the Ligurian Sea of the Medditerranean.

Notes:

Apparently there is reason to believe that this species may be what the ancient Greeks identified as the original "cedar" - cedrus.
