This plant is native to the Ligurian-Tuscan coastal dunes and probably the offspring of species planted as a part of the natural restoration of the dunes of the Darsenna of Viareggio.

Habitat:

Restored (& replanted) Mediterranean coastal dunes of the San Rossore Park where the Ligurian Sea overlaps the Tuscan coast.
