Description:

Upright to sprawling and vinelike, smooth, bushy herbaceous perennial. Small white to pinkish flowers on drooping racemes. Fruit is a small berry, that turns bright, glossy red as it matures. Often the berries start ripening at the base of a spike while flowers are still opening at the tip.

Habitat:

Habitat garden with many native plants.

Notes:

The berries yield a red dye.
