You're welcome :) Great series! You can also i.d. all the Ladies by their underwings, but that's a whole other issue. I think the upper wing is easier to use.
Hi there! Here's how to tell the difference between the American Lady, Painted Lady and West Coast Lady:
The American Lady has a white dot in the orange field on the forewing.
The West Coast Lady has no dot. It has more "windowpane" patterning on the forewing, and four blue-filled dots on the rear wing.
