Description:

It is also known as a finch-billed starling or locally called "jalak tunggir merah". They arrived in hundreds in two or three neighboring trees.

Habitat:

Secondary forest near a Bogani Nani Wartabone National Park, North Sulawesi, Indonesia.

Notes:

This individual were one of more than a hundred birds in a single Malotus tree at the edge of the National Park. They were eating the fruits.

They are eating the nuts of Malotus sp. Fam. Euphorbiaceae.
