Oyster Mushrooms

Pleurotus sp.

Description:

Cluster of white mushrooms growing on a dead hardwood tree (root). Decurrent gills. Smells earthy and slightly sweet. Spore print white. I'm guessing this is P. pulmonarius or ostreatus (the former might be more likely due to the season). Any ID help is much appreciated!

Habitat:

On dead hardwood tree root (more on trunk) on a ridge in a dense mixed hardwood forest.
