Blackberry Lily

Belamcanda chinensis

Description:

This flower which lasts only a day is orange and speckled and comes from a Rhizome. The foilage looks like an Iris plant. Quite a process when the bud comes up and finally blooms.

Habitat:

Likes a tropical climate.

Notes:

I have added two more pictures of this plants seed pods. Now I understand why it is called Blackberry Lily.

Such a pretty flower. I wonder if the birds eat the berries?
