Looks like a kind of caterpillar, found it early in the day( around) eleven am.

Habitat:

Gardens, trees, shrubs

Notes:

It was wrapped up in sticks and crawling across the walk. When touched it retreats into the stick cocoon.

This looks like a caddisfly larvae. I've spotted one so has Lars Korb. Very interesting, they all look different. They make a home from whatever they find around.
