Baronet

Euthalia nais

Description:

It was mid December and quite cold in Tungareshwar that morning and I found this jewel sun basking on a rock in a dried river bed to soak in the energy. The Baronet is widely distributed in Peninsular India and can be found in some North Indian and North Eastern States as well. With a wing span around 60-70mm, the Baronet has a slow flight normally close to the ground and can be seen flying from February to December.
