Woodhouse's Toad

Bufo woodhousii

Description:

This toad was about 10 cm (4 in). It is a mottled brown with a light stripe down its back. Its underbelly and sides are light colored and unmarked. Bufo woodhousii is nocturnal and feeds on insects near light sources.

Habitat:

This small toad was spotted in a puddle next to the flower bed in our development's pocket park. During the day it shelters in burrows or among vegetation.

Notes:

Had to use flash and flashlights. No street or moonlight to help.
