Iris tenax (Iridaceae)

Description:

Small iris, light blue-lavender to purple sometimes in color, yellow tongue with speckles. 3 main flower parts, 3 sub parts with no tongue. Could be mistaken for an orchid. Strong slender leaves.

Habitat:

Woodland meadow areas. Mid to high elevation.

Notes:

Spotted forested meadow of Oregon.
