A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Cimbex americana
the largest of the sawfly larvae at almost 2"
urban
A friend spotted this on a willow and brought it over. He didn't know what it was but wanted me to see it. It was my first time seeing one too. I searched online and found the ID. I thought about raising it but once I learned it was a sawfly larvae and not a caterpillar, I released it on the willow in my backyard.
