Amanita flaviphylla
Thanks Martin and Mark for the ID help... and thanks Nicholas. :)
Nice one Christiane..
Beautiful mushroom Christiane. The Fly Agaric also occurs in yellow forms... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Amanit...
Great Information.. thank Martin! This is the first one I have seen here.. Maybe because we had a lot of rain this year.
Nice spotting Christiane. This mushroom has patches on the pileus (cap) that are remnant of the universal veil (membrane). This is typical of the genus Amanita and includes the famous red and white fly agaric http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/111...http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/114...http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/994...Your yellow one is not common and possibly Amanita flaviphylla but there are other possibilities. Amanitas are usually very toxic.
