Description:

Long tails with a red underside. 3 black stripes, two whits along back. 3 brown stripes on cheeks.

Habitat:

alpine and sub-alpine. Common to coniferous forests and native to North America. Ranges include Northwest, Rocky Mountains, Southwest, and Western Canada.

Notes:

Red Tailed Chipmunks give a warning bark when they feel threatened.
