I see what you're saying! It is hard to tell in the picture, but tail was definitely blue-ish (though not as vibrant as the five-lined skinks I've seen). It was the closest match in my field guide. I think your ID is correct, I'm just wondering if the blue-ish tail could be a color variation in the racerunner?
