Description:

A common species across much of North American. The male having a greenish black head, bright yellow bill and a brown and gray body. The female a muted brown with an orangish bill.

Habitat:

Hundreds of Mallards winter in this protected harbor where a freshwater stream meets the salt water, giving a varied diet.
