Baya Weaver nests

Ploceus philippinus

Description:

These nests may be lined inside with clay. We did not see any Weavers while we were there but it was only a short visit. The only other Weaver species there is the Streaked Weaver which generally builds its nest low down in reed beds.

Habitat:

Trees by coastal lagoon. Precise location undetermined as this was in an area which was completely destroyed by the Tsunami later the same year.
