Tropical Rose Hydrangea

Dombeya seminole

Habitat:

Tropical, full to partial sun, ornamental. Dombeyas originated in Africa and Madagascar.

Notes:

Not a Hydrangea at all, but rather a tropical substitute member of the mallow family. Similar looking to hydrangea, it is a large shrub with clusters of pink flowers amongst large green leaves. Bees were very interested in a few of these bushes growing in a botanical garden at Miami Dade College North Campus.
