This is not a plescostomus, which is a type of catfish! The fish above is a type of cichlid. Double check your ID http://www.planetcatfish.com/common/spec... is clearly not the fish above.

The Jack dempsey is a common pet store fish http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Dempse... - although I'm not 100% certain that's what yours is, it is certainly related to the Dempsey
