Domestic Turkey

Meleagris gallopavo

Description:

The domesticated turkey (Meleagris gallopavo) is a large poultry bird, one of the two species in the genus Meleagris and the same as the wild turkey.

Habitat:

Seen in a very small village in Guatamala. This turkey may have belonged to someone, as it looked like a 'farmyard' incorporated the whole village!

It's similar to the Royal Palm breed.

Maria, I'm not sure. It was just walking around on the 'street' near a small group of houses. It may have belonged to someone, probably did, as it looked like a 'farmyard' incorporated the whole village!

Gorgeous - was it wild or being kept by people?
