Description:

They are solitary animals with a black body thickly covered with hairs with bluish, purple or purple metallic reflections. The wings also have a purple tint. Females approach 3 cm in size, while males do not reach 2 cm.

Habitat:

Sucking an Anthyllis cytisoides plant in a dune area with pine trees next to the Mediterranean Sea. They dig nests in the logs of dead or very aged wood. They are found both in forest areas and in urban areas.
