Description:

Photo take on a jungle path this beautiful orchid hangs from a tree at 3 mt from the grown white and yellow color the plant leafs are very thin dark green color attach whit the roots to the tree. One to two flowered, epiphytic plant that smells somewhat skunky at night, grows best mounted on wood erect to ascending, slender, terete, jointed stems enveloped by white, scarious, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, linear subulate, terete, fleshy coriaceous leaf that blooms from summer till autumn on a short to 20cm peduncle that is borne at the junction of the single leaf and terete stem. Flowers that appear later in it's season and exposed to a cold snap will have a redder appearance. This is the type species for the genus.

Habitat:

Found from elevation up to 1800 mt to sea level native of Central America from México to Peru.
