Serpulid Tubeworms

Serpula sp.

Description:

I rarely find these in tide pools... This might even be the first I have found in one. I sometimes see them on the sides of docks. Their empty tube castings sometimes wash up on the beach though. I think they might be found a little deeper in the intertidal so I might only find them at very low tides.

Habitat:

Tide pool at low tide (might have actually been a negative tide) on a rocky beach
