Description:

I finally got some photos of a breeding adult where you can see the iridescence! You can also see the red at the base of the beak here. Usually the ones I find are more of a flat black color. I believe those are non-breeding adults. They are very common around the ocean here.

Habitat:

In the water near some canneries and fish processing plants
