Tarantula

Description:

Very heavy, relatively speaking with a body about 9 cm and leg span of of 15-18 cm. I'm not really sure how to measure leg span. It was black with lighter colored hairs that gave parts a grayer look.

Habitat:

Found on a "mountaintop" @ 1,000 masl, in the Amazon rainforest of SE Ecuador.

Notes:

I have handled a lot of tarantulas. This was by far the heaviest.
