Braconinae
Black, with red abdomen and black wings. Small, under 10 mm in body length.
Suburban neighborhood on western fringe of eastern deciduous forest. Female wasp seen ovipositing on log section cut from a huge, fallen limb of Pin Oak in our front yard.
The cut wood has attracted potential hosts of this parasitoid wasp in the form of longhorned beetles and jewel beetles.
