Hypolimnas monteironis, the Scarce Blue Diadem, is a butterfly in the Nymphalidae family. It is found in Nigeria, Cameroon, Gabon, the Republic of Congo, Angola, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania.
The habitat consists of forests. This series of butterflies were spotted in a Butterfly Pavilion in Denver, Colorado, USA.

yes, well Christy, I might even bump into you at the Denver Botanic Gardens. I plan to go there, just have t find a day and the bus routes!
This one is more pale than I expected. I selected a reference that was paler than the normal form. Some butterflies are paler in their colors if captive bred.
Possibly my ID suggestion needs clarification or confirmation by an expert.
Welcome to the state! The Denver Botanic Gardens downtown is another beautiful place to photograph! I bought a membership this year and I'm having a blast going!
