Description:

Dark brown with yellow patches on front and hind wings. Dark stripe down center of yellow head and thorax. Red abdomen with two narrow bluish bands across rear end.

Habitat:

tropical wet forest in SW Costa Rica

Thanks bayucca and Nuwan! I never would have thought that this moth was so prevalent in the southeastern U.S. having located here in SW Costa Rica!
