Spizella passerina
The cap is a bright red. We see a black line behind the eye. The bill is short and gray. The side of the head, stomach, chest and throat are pale gray, almost white. The back is brown with black and white stripes. Both sexes are similar. Red cap, both sides of the beak gray, the black line behind the eye and chest pale gray distinguish it from other sparrows.
Lives in forests, parks, countryside and suburbs. Present throughout Quebec south of James Bay.
