Description:

Striped mollusk growing in a large colony. It looks like some of them are adhered flat to the pole so I am not sure if they are bivalves or something more akin to a slipper shell (a gastropod)

Habitat:

On a pole supporting a small boardwalk cutting through a mangrove forest. JN Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge on Sanibel Island
