Description:

Fungus-like in appearance, this is actually a Plasmodial Slime Mold. These to orangish colored fruiting bodies were found on a rotting log in a shady area. There were two insects on them, presumably feeding.

Habitat:

Temperate forest. Rockwood Park, Virginia.
