Description:

Hypolimnas monteironis, the Scarce Blue Diadem, is a butterfly in the Nymphalidae family. It is found in Nigeria, Cameroon, Gabon, the Republic of Congo, Angola, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania.[2] The habitat consists of forests.

This series of butterflies were spotted in a Butterfly Pavilion in Denver, Colorado, USA.

This is an African eggfly. Genus Hypolimnas. Notice it walks on four legs - this means it is a nymphalidae butterfly. Its other two front legs are permanently modified brushes and held forward to form its pointy 'nose'.
