Description:

I can't find much on this species, but here's what I have: Larvae bore in the stems of Amorpha fruticosa, the False Indigo, adults common on Goldenrod (Solidago spp.) in the fall. (information from BugGuide)

This beetle was spotted on the trail at Oxley Nature Center.

does it get it's yellow color from golden rod?

Thanks, Keith. I was having a great day on my hike before the beetle, and then when I saw it, my day got even better. This one was a first for me and I was thrilled.
