Glittering-bellied Emerald

Chlorostilbon lucidus

Description:

Found in Bolivia (except for the Andes mountains), Paraguay, the centre of Brazil, Uruguay and the centre and north of Argentina. It migrates northwards in winter. It’s about 9 cm long, with the beak measuring 2 cm. The bird in this photo is a male.

Habitat:

It lives in woods and other areas with trees, and does not shy away from human presence (these photos were taken in my garden).
