Tree trunks turned to stone
Outskirts of a small town called Mandu in Madhya Pradesh India.
The Narmada River basin is a rich treasure trove of fossils. There is a Fossil Park here. The notice in Hindi says it is 7 crore years old. 1 crore is 10 million.

@ Jae I have added the Hindi notice board that puts its age at 70 million years!
Amazing! And very interesting to read up on. Apparently some of these plant fossils found in that area have been estimated to have existed anywhere between 40 million and 150 million years ago.
Thanks Jae, I was curious too... but sorry no idea...but somehow my gut feeling says palm or coconut....no branches..cylindrical....but I confess this is absolutely guesswork.
Another awesome spotting, Sukanya! Just out of curiosity, do you have any idea which species of trees this is or should I say was :)
