Description:

A dense low growing succulent. This clump was about 6 ft across. Consisting of several chords with multiple erect branching. Aka pickleweed is an important nesting habitat for migrating birds and an important food source for the endangered salt marsh harvest mouse.

Habitat:

Spotted at Smiley Lagoon along the San Diego River. Estuary salt and fresh water marsh.
