Description:

This red admiral is showing his beautiful and complex irridescent underwing pattern. This butterfly is one of Europe's most widespread migrants. It migrates North every year after spending the winter in southern Europe.

Habitat:

A clearing at the edge of alpine forest, alt. 1500 ASL. Found in temperate Europe, Asia and North America.

Notes:
